Hey look! It's some Inheritance art!
A picture for the upcoming Inheritance book from the Inheritance Cycle: Inheritance!
(See, that's why that was a bad idea)
Murtagh was a bitch to do. You have no idea how many times I had to start him over. I made him the emo loser that he is too, as he's crying and looks like he wants to die.
I'm joking. Murtagh is split to show two sides of Misery. The one who creates misery and the one who experiences it. I feel like this sums him up perfectly due to his split character of someone who is good but is forced to do bad things. It also shows the two paths Murtagh will have for book 4. Remain a bad guy until the end or redeem himself. (Whoa, I'm explaining my symbolism. FYI, every single thing I draw has symbolism in it right down to the look and expression of their eyes)
Roran is all HULK!SMASH! And Arya is beautiful Arya who didn't come out the way I had wanted. Eragon is Eragon and looks like a hero stud.
Seriously, drawing Eragon is no effort due to how many years I've been drawing him for:/
So yea, our four main characters whose fates will be changed in book 4. Murtagh for his end, Eragon for saving Alagaesia, Arya for obvious Green Rider and Roran...because we know he's going to be important if that wall doesn't actually kill him.
Was this done out of guilt? Yes. I feel bad for no Eragon/Inheritance art....since December? But I kinda also wanted to draw it again, so here you go. Enjoy.
I might end up colouring this properly and posting for the release date in celebration.

[link]EDIT: I fixed Arya and did some more shading.
EDITx2: AN 2012 edit now up.
